Video The Boom Booms play indie soul at Traverse tonight
East Van’s The Boom Booms bring their indie soul to the Traverse Night Club on Jan. 23.
The Boom Booms are a six-piece indie soul band hailing from East Van.
They play infectious soul music influenced by American soul sounds.
The Boom Booms are an up-and-coming underground favorite in the Vancouver scene, and have been featured at many jazz and roots festivals, including the Vancouver International Jazz Festival last year, and the Salmon Arm Roots and Blues in 2012.
They achieved a breakthrough in their partnership with Aloe Blacc for his single The Man, which went platinum when it was featured in a Beats by Dre commercial in 2013.
The Boom Booms released ‘Love Is Overdue’ in October of 2014. It was produced by heavyweight mixer Chin Injeti, who has production credits for Eminem, Dr. Dre and Pink.
They play Traverse Night Club on Friday, Jan. 23. Doors at 9 p.m.
