Lys is your community journalist for Revelstoke Mountaineer. He grew up in Calgary with the Rockies as a weekend stomping grounds and spent a decade on Vancouver Island for school and working as the community reporter for The Discourse Nanaimo. Your friendly neighborhood trans guy, Lys is focused on showcasing underrepresented voices, community joy and innovation and finding a new way to tell big stories. When not reporting around town, you can find him slowly working his way through his book collection while his two cats either curl up for pets or throw themselves around the place.
Hollie works from the traditional and unceded territories of the Liqʷiłdaxʷ people, specifically the We Wai Kai and Wei Wai Kum First Nations.
As the editor for the Revelstoke Mountaineer, The Wren and Sun Peaks Independent News, Hollie is proud to guide and support the work of Discourse Community Publishing’s talented journalists.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, camping and spending time with her pups.
Throughout her career as a community news publisher in the B.C. Interior, Brandi has learned people want to see independent, in-depth, solutions-focused local news. She is dedicated to living and learning new journalism models and working to build a sustainable, equitable local news ecosystem.
