Revelstoke 2017 draft budget proposes a 7% increase for residential taxes, while businesses would see their taxes increase by 4%. Council will vote on the updated version of the draft at its next meeting, before the document is sent out for public consultation.

Revelstoke City Council approved a development permit to build a Ramada Inn hotel on the outskirts of town. If the permit receives a Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure tick of approval, construction will start as early as October with an aim to open April next year.
