Arts Revelstoke’s summer concerts series at the Grizzly Plaza is back this year with a bonus September weekend and an open mic opportunity.

Opening with Revelstoke’s very own Shoestring Necktie Wednesday, July 1, REVY.Live Outside 2026 runs every night until Sunday, Aug. 30. From 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., audiences can bring a seat and settle in for a live concert at the Grizzly Plaza gazebo. The series returns for the September Labour Day long weekend Friday, Sept. 4 to Sunday, Sept. 6.

Over 420 artists applied to be a part of this year’s lineup, and Arts Revelstoke’s committee narrowed the list down to 63, prioritizing novel performances.

“It was hard to say ‘see you later’ to some repeat favourites, but we wanted to make sure we offered spots to some new artists,” Robyn Goldsmith, Arts Revelstoke executive director said.

REVY.Live Outside is gaining international appeal, with applicants from all around the world vying for a spot.

“It’s flattering, but we don’t have the budget to bring in a five-person act from Uganda,” Goldsmith said. Instead Arts Revelstoke will host performers from across Canada this year, providing accommodations and a meal along with the performance fee.

While it’s not the highest paying show in the region, the overall community support for artists each night makes the summer series an easy favourite for Jayne Wood from Jayne Karma Lamo and the Interbeings. The post-grunge alt-rock band is back for their second year, not deterred by last year’s rained out performance.

“We still had a really enthusiastic, awesome, small crowd even though it was thundering and raining,” she said, adding that her band asked Arts Revelstoke to be considered for 2026 shortly after the 2025 series wrapped.

Returning as well this year, Stoke FM will host a REVY.Live Outside radio show interviewing performers and playing tracks to give listeners a preview for the evening. A REVY.Live Outside 2026 playlist is also available on Spotify.

While every show remains free, providing a financially-accessible summer activity for roughly 25,000 locals and visitors has organizers exploring additional funding. At a Tuesday, March 10 general council meeting, Goldsmith said staff are looking for community sponsors and taking advantage of the Chamber of Commerce’s Give Stoke program to collect audience donations each night.

“I do think it’s important that we recognize the importance of these programs not just on tourism but on our local communities,” she said.
