Brief: No update on missing boater: RCMP

Boater still missing after Thursday capsizing.

Revelstoke RCMP say there is no update on the search for a boater who went missing on the Columbia River near Blanket Creek on Thursday night.

In a brief email, Revelstoke police said there had been “no change” in the situation.

Two men in a boat, who RCMP said were from Alberta, capsized near the Blanket Creek Campground south of Revelstoke.

One swam to shore and was rescued, while the other, who was wearing a life jacket at the time, is still missing.

He is described as a Caucasian man aged about 35, weighing 220 pounds, last seen wearing shorts, a green coat and a black and yellow life jacket.

Revelstoke police said they’d provide more information on the search on Monday.
