
A 54-year-old Revelstoke woman was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition following a two-vehicle accident on the Trans-Canada about 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11.
The incident occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway at the Enchanted Forest turnoff, about 37 kilometres west of Revelstoke. This spot is notorious for vehicle collisions.
The Revelstoke woman was a passenger in a Jeep Cherokee from B.C., which rear-ended a westbound car from Edmonton negotiating the left-hand turn into the popular entertainment site.
All occupants of the Alberta car were uninjured and the highway was closed for three hours and reopened at 12:35 p.m. Southeast District Traffic Services are currently investigating the crash.

An MVI near the Enchanted Forest about 37 kilometres west of Revelstoke has closed the Trans-Canada Highway on the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 11.
According to DriveBC, the estimated time of reopening is 2 p.m.
