Brief: City to enforce parking rules on Revelstoke streets
The city of Revelstoke announced on Wednesday that starting July 9 bylaw officers will begin issuing tickets for parking infractions
Your days of parking on the streets of Revelstoke without the worry of receiving a ticket are coming to an end.
On June 20, the city announced that effective July 9 bylaw officers will be enforcing parking infractions on city streets.
According to a statement from the city the change in policy is in response to complaints from the public and from business owners.
The notice says that the focus of the “enforcement campaign” will be maximum parking time limits.
Bylaw officers will continue to enforce infractions for parking facing the wrong direction, impeding a crosswalk, blocking access to a fire hydrant, and parking next to a yellow curb.
The city statement said the decision to begin enforcement was made in response to an increase in complaints received by the city from home and business owners, and is intended to improve pedestrian safety.
