A man’s body was discovered on the shoreline of the Columbia River south of Blanket Creek Provincial Park on Sunday, Aug. 1.

Police recovered the body at the scene after receiving a call.

Police say there are no indications of criminality in the death so far. The BC Coroners Service and RCMP are still working to confirm the identity of the body.

Earlier this summer, on June 20, two Alberta men capsized their small boat near Blanket Creek. One of them managed to swim to shore, but the other man has not been found since the incident. See that story here:

Police didn’t say the two incidents are connected. A Revelstoke RCMP spokesperson said police are “not offering any further information about this investigation.”
