Cactus Hugs – An Art Show by Mia Dungeon at The Revelstoke Trading Post, 7 p.m.

This Friday, the Revelstoke Trading Post will be transformed into an art gallery through the captivating work of multi-media artist Mia Dungeon. Mia specializes in 2D and 3D paintings and sculptures, often using reclaimed wood as a canvas for her art. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. and there will be refreshments, food, and tunes by DJ Spanda.

Yes — it really is that time of year already! Downtown’s Mackenzie Ave. will be transforming into a bustling hub for local produce and unique craftwork once more. You’ll have until 1 p.m. Saturday to get yourself downtown and support local before the market wraps up for the day.

6th Annual Bike Swap at Revelstoke Forum, 10 a.m.

Get your hands on a new (ish) bike — or sell your old one — with no hassle at this weekend’s Bike Swap & Expo. There will be retailers and bike experts on site to answer your questions and will have products for sale. It will cost $3 to register your gear for sale, with 15% of the sale price (up to $50) going to the NCES. Product registration starts at 10 a.m. and doors open to the public at 12 p.m.

Revelstoke Coffee House at the Revelstoke United Church, 7:30 p.m.

After almost a decade of providing quality local folk music, the coffee house will be closing its doors for good after this Saturday’s show. The evening will follow it’s usual format, kicking off with open mic followed by a performance by prairie balladeer Scott Cook to wrap things up. Make sure you swing by to say goodbye.
