A Revelstoke tradition, the annual Community Christmas Dinner has provided hundreds of people with a meal and fellowship since 1994.

“This has become a tradition for many families in Revelstoke to volunteer and give back at Christmas time,” said Ginger Shoji, who has been helping with the event for many years. “And we look forward to seeing them and new faces every year.”

The event is run entirely by volunteers and almost everything, including the food and venue, is donated by the community. The Revelstoke Community Christmas Dinner is made up of committee members and volunteers, and volunteers are being sought for this year.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Melissa Kennedy at 250-200-0404 or by email at melissajjkennedy@gmail.com, or Stacie Byrne at 250-200-0022. A volunteer meeting will be held in the MacPherson Room at the Community Centre on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m.

The Revelstoke Community Christmas Dinner takes place Wednesday, Dec. 25 from 1 p.m.-3p.m. at St. Francis Hall.
