B.C. Transportation Minister Todd Stone was in Revelstoke June 15 to announce three new initiatives for the Trans-Canada Highway, including new variable speed signs to be used during adverse weather and traffic, new remote-controlled avalanche control equipment for Three Valley Gap, and new traffic light control systems designed to alleviate traffic backlogs at Trans-Canada Highway intersections.
