Two stolen vehicles, vehicle break-ins in Columbia Park

On Aug. 5, a stolen vehicle was abandoned, another similar one was then stolen, and several vehicles were rifled through, with cash and personal items stolen.

Revelstoke RCMP are appealing for tips after two vehicles were stolen and others were broken into in the Columbia Park neighbourhood on Aug. 5.

It started with a report of an abandoned vehicle on the Allen Frontage Road. The 1999 Acura 1.6 EL was found to be stolen from Malakwa the night before.

Soon after, police got a report that a vehicle had been stolen from the Columbia Park neighbourhood. It was a silver 2000 Honda Civic sedan, which police said was very similar to the abandoned Acura.

Police also received reports that several unlocked vehicles had been broken into in Columbia Park during that night, and that cash and other personal items were stolen.

In a statement, RCMP emphasized the “importance of securing personal property, homes and vehicles to combat these thefts of opportunity.”

If you have any information regarding these crimes, or any other they can be reported to Revelstoke Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477).
