The DriveBC website notes that the closure is in effect from Revelstoke to a location 26 kilometres west of Revelstoke.
An image on a DriveBC app shows the location of the incident as Three Valley Lake. At that location near the Three Valley Gap resort, the Trans-Canada Highway runs between the lake and a cliff face that often sheds rocks and debris onto the highway.

There is a weather advisory in effect in the area. A very wet weather system coming from the coast has led to significant snowfall and rainfall in the area for the past 24 hours, causing disruptions on the highways.
The Coquihalla Highway is closed due to a mudslide prompted by the wet conditions, and there are several other closures on B.C. highways. Be sure to check highway conditions before traveling.
It’s not clear if there may be other disruption points in that stretch of highway. There are multiple mudslide or debris torrent paths on the highway in the area that can become problematic during heavy precipitation events.
DriveBC is advising of a detour via Highway 23 South. DriveBC is warning drivers to expect major delays.
We may not update this situation. For the latest road reports and details, please see the DriveBC mobile website.
