  • A Pineapple Express weather system has brought a wave of warming precipitation to the Revelstoke area, leading to a series of avalanche control closures of the Trans-Canada Highway.
  • The highway will be closed in phases both east and west of Revelstoke for most of Saturday daylight hours.
  • Closures are planned midmorning west of Revelstoke, and a series of closures are planned east of Revelstoke in Glacier National Park and east towards Golden for the daytime and afternoon.
  • Pineapple Express avalanche closures – like the avalanches they cause – tend to be pretty fluid, so it’s best to check DriveBC for the latest. Here’s the link to the mobile DriveBC site for the Trans-Canada in the Revelstoke area.
