Video Video: Train derails in downtown Revelstoke

A CP Rail train has derailed in downtown Revelstoke near the intersection of Victoria Road and Campbell Avenue.

Two grain cars came off the tracks and one tipped over at about 2 p.m. on April 2.
Revelstoke RCMP spokesperson Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said there were no injuries and it appears only some kind of grain spilled.

The westbound train consisted of tanker cars as far as the eye could see on the east side and about a dozen more on the west. In between were four grain cars, two of which derailed.

Lorraine Beruschi was working across the street and said nobody heard the derailment and they didn’t notice it until someone pointed it out.

Lots of responders were on scene dealing with the situation on Wednesday afternoon.
