Third time’s a charm for Cabin Fever this weekend

It's all about shredding after the operational season

This year’s third annual ski/snowboard event, Cabin Fever, hosted by The Cabin, takes place at Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd. The crew working behind the scenes promises more features than before — more bumps, jumps, booters, a mini pipe, spines and park jumps.

Another change to the Cabin Fever program includes opening it up to families and sightseers. Bring your partner, your spouse, your kid up the mountain to shred within the boundaries of RMR and with the bonus of 40 plus features built into the natural curvature of the mountain (North and South bowls will not be open).

Then bring your injured neighbor or visiting relatives up the gondola to basecamp to watch the action, eat BBQ made by the Village Idiot and participate in the beats curated by Big E, DJ Arise, DJ RThree and Lorne B.

This opportunity to shred RMR in May comes with some restrictions. Ski patrol and security will keep an eye out for misconduct. Tickets must be bought, registration and waiver signed before going up the gondola. Registration is open at The Cabin from noon to 8pm on Friday, May 1st. Tickets can be purchased at The Cabin or online until the evening of Friday, May 1st. Check out the event website for a full schedule of ticket purchase locations and registration for the day of the event at RMR. Also note, the gondola will not be running constantly throughout the day. Once you’re up, be prepare to stay for a while.

This opportunity to shred RMR in May also comes with good times. The welcome party is Friday, May 1st at The Cabin starting at 9 pm. The beer gardens at the event will be a fundraiser for the Columbia Valley Skateboard Association. The official party on Saturday will be at the River City Pub starting at 10 pm.

With a 240 cm base and snow in the forecast, live entertainment at 4000 ft plus after parties in the valley, Cabin Fever is a win-win situation.
