The Revelstoke Mountaineer is seeking a journalist for our two media publications, www.revelstokemountaineer.com and the print monthly Revelstoke Mountaineer Magazine.
Our website, www.revelstokemountaineer.com, is Revelstoke’s daily source for timely community news. We use our mobile- and web-based platforms to tell stories about people who make Revelstoke an amazing place to live. We aim for inspired stories, photography, podcasting, interviews, social media, and more.
On a daily basis, we post stories about news, events, entertainment, sports, features, outdoors, lifestyles, mountain life, music, culture, business, and the arts.
The Revelstoke Mountaineer Magazine explores the best of Revelstoke. We are Revelstoke’s premiere print monthly featuring stories oriented to both visitors and locals. We tell authentic stories about the amazing people and experiences that make Revelstoke great.
The Revelstoke Mountaineer is an original. We are locally owned and operated.
We’re hiring. We’re looking for a super-motivated journalist to join our team. You will be our lead journalist, writer and content producer.
The hours for this position are flexible; it can be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate.
Key requirements:
-Journalism training and/or experience
-Proficiency with digital storytelling tools (please describe your computer/software/social media proficiencies in detail)
-A camera and excellent photography skills
-Social media proficiency
-A self-starter who can work independently
-Great creative writing skills
-An outgoing person who makes contacts quickly
-A reliable vehicle
