Their first fashion show last year was such a hit, the owners of Style Trend Clothiers have opted bring it back for 2016.
Fashion in Revelstoke is an eclectic mix of boho, grunge, prep and outdoor. Style Trend Clothiers features on-trend fashion with popular brands such as Quiksilver and Billabong, C’est Moi and Pink Martini.
This year’s show will again include live music, this time from Wolfhaus of Beatlab, but the show will go for longer to allow guests to mingle more and peruse the retail collection, which will be at 20 per cent off. Over $4000 in door prizes are up for grabs and snacks and drinks will be offered.
Q&A with Style Trend Clothiers owner Diane Bull
How is this show different from last years and what are you excited most about?
Our inaugural show last year was received much better than expected, with an amazing turnout of both locals as well as guests coming in from surrounding communities. As with most things, we learned a lot from that first show — and are happy to be making some tweaks to this year’s show to make it even better!
The main improvement we’ve made is that we will be making the show a bit longer – a bit of extra work for us, but it will be well worth it. Also, it looks like we will have over $4,000 in door prizes, donated from our amazing brands and event partners, as well as music, treats, and of course – some great fashion!
Why did you decide to put it on again, and why do you think this is good for Revelstoke?
The response we got last year was amazing, we almost completely sold out (and are expecting to this year!) and everybody seemed to really enjoy the evening.
In the days following the show, we got several customers come into the store or reach out over social media to make sure we were going to do it again this year – so how could we say no?
We really see this event as a way to show our customers how much we appreciate them, we are so lucky to have amazing, loyal local customers and we try to provide something fun that we know they will enjoy.
We have a few different events throughout the year, but this is by far the largest one. The 20 per cent off shopping for ticket holders after the show doesn’t hurt either – people seem to appreciate that as well!
What styles are on trend for the summer 2016?
I would say that for Summer 16, Boho is very strong again, which is always well received by our customers – this easy, flowy style looks great on everybody and best of all, it’s really comfortable!
We are also seeing retro inspired styles looking strong for this summer, from bell sleeves and flared jeans, jumpsuits and retro prints – everybody is loving working this bit of nostalgia into their wardrobe!
Anything else you would like to add?
Just a reminder to everybody that if you’re planning on attending, please don’t wait until the last minute to grab your tickets! I’m very confident that we will sell out and I don’t want to see you guys miss out!
Also – remember that whatever Friday brings, weather isn’t an issue – we will have a large tent set up to ensure everybody is comfortable during the event.
