Spare a quarter for a caribou?

Begbie View grade five student Alyssa Bollefer has led a successful campaign to raise funds for the Revelstoke Caribou Rearing in the Wild project (RCRW).

Bollefer is passionate about the caribou and she shared her enthusiasm with classmates during presentations at the school. She organized a class challenge that asked students to collect quarters — which bear the image of a caribou — with funds going to the RCRW maternity penning project.

Together with classmates, Alyssa raised $666 for the project. The money will help purchase new radio collars for the calves. The students will follow the progress of the new animals.
