Snowmobile thief strikes at Revelstoke hotel

Revelstoke RCMP is asking for tips from the public after a snowmobile trailer with two sleds and sledding gear inside was stolen from a Revelstoke hotel parking lot in the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 16.

Police say a man driving a white Ford F-350 crew can pickup truck (see main story photo) was recorded on video at around 1:30 a.m. as he unhitched the trailer from another truck, attached it to his, then drove away.

The Alcom Crossover trailer had a red Polaris 800 Pro-RMK with an Alberta licence plate, HDR37. A black 2018 BRP Summit with custom camouflage wrap and licence plate KEP57 was also stolen. A variety of gear, backpacks, fluids and fuel inside the trailer was also stolen.

Police described the driver as a Caucasian male aged 25–40. He was wearing dark clothing. The truck had no front plate, a red fuel tank in the box and a burned out taillight.
