The Revelstoke RCMP is once again reminding residents to lock their vehicles and hide valuables away, this following a series of thefts overnight in Revelstoke.

The incidents happened in the downtown residential area between the night of Sunday, Dec. 16 and Monday, Dec. 17.

A flat deck trailer, a black Yamaha Nytro snowmobile, and a blue-and-black Santa Cruz Bronson mountain bike are still missing following several incidents in the night.

In a statement, Revelstoke RCMP said all of the thefts happened east of Mackenzie Avenue between Fourth Street and Eighth Street.

In addition to the missing items, another sled trailer was stolen but later ditched in the Columbia Park area. Police believe it was abandoned because there was no snowmobile inside.

Several other vehicles were entered into in the area, and police believe that there may have been more incidents that were not reported to police.

In another incident, a male and female were observed trying to steal a licence plate from a vehicle. The pair were driving a newer white pickup truck. Police are appealing for any information the public may have on these two, including reports of suspicious activity, or CCTV camera footage.

Following incidents like these, Revelstoke police routinely call for residents to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables, even small change.

Police are asking for public tips; the Revelstoke RCMP telephone number is 250-837-5255. For more information on these incidents, see this link.
