Revelstoke RCMP are on the lookout for a 2015 Ski-Doo Summit X sled that was stolen early this morning.

In a statement, Revelstoke RCMP spokesperson Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said the sled went missing at around 2 a.m. Monday morning.

The sled is bright yellow in colour with a red ‘X’ on the side panel. It also has a B.C. off-road vehicle licence number 2C234 on the left side of the tunnel.

Grabinsky said police are reviewing video surveillance tape recordings from the area.

“Police encourage sled owners to secure their machines when parked,” Grabinsky said in a statement. “It is suggested to utilize high quality locks, park vehicles strategically to reduce the risk of a sled being removed from trailers and off of trucks, park in well-lit areas, and to ensure that valuables are removed from vehicles.

“It is very important to register off-road vehicles and prominently display that licence plate for identification purposes,” he added.

RCMP are appealing for tips on this latest snowmobile theft.
