The eight-episode series is an exclusive journey through the icy mountain wilderness on the country’s most extreme railways, Canadian Pacific Railway and Ontario Northland Railway. It’s in the coldest frostbitten months that the network stands up as a feat of modern engineering. Facing the constant threat of deadly avalanches, monster icicles, rockslides and dangerous wildlife, the hardy crews of the Rocky Mountain Railroad do whatever it takes to keep this critical lifeline running smoothly and safely. Shutting down is not an option.
The cast from CP includes: Nick Beyer, the Golden roadmaster; Jordy Hunter, engineer; Alina Miller, rail maintenance; and from ONR, Jay Falldien, conductor; Jodie Nichols, rookie conductor, and off-gridder George Ross.
