Revelstoke’s Stu Dickson wins Trans NZ Enduro race

Revelstoke resident Stu Dickson has taken first in the Trans NZ Enduro mountain bike race in New Zealand, besting a field of international competitors in the five-day competition.

Dickson is an up-and-coming 19-year-old young racer who has made his mark on the Revelstoke scene in the past few years by winning many local races.

He’s been in New Zealand for the past several weeks building up for the competitive season in Canada and hopes to make his mark on the BC Enduro series in 2015.

The five-day race involves lots of ascents with timed sections that uses digital fobs to time competitors in and out.

The race on the South Island started in the Craigieburn area and proceeded in six stages over the greater Queenstown area.

Dickson was thrilled with the results, and will head to the North Island soon to compete in another.

The up and coming rider is sponsored by Devinci Cycles, distributor NRG Enterprises and Revelstoke bike shop Flowt Bikes & Skis.
