Revelstoke skatepark fundraiser moves new park closer

Skatepark fundraiser brings goal of a new Kovach Park skatepark closer.

The Columbia Valley Skateboard Association’s annual  silent auction gala at Traverse on Feb. 2 raised about $8,000 for the project, bringing the skatepark advocates closer to their goal of building the park in 2017.

Dozens and dozens of businesses and individuals contributed prizes to the annual event, and a crowd of about 150 came out to support the cause and bid on the items.

The prizes included heli-skiing passes, gift certificates, lots of snowboarding gear, original pieces of art, and much more.
