Revelstoke Nordic club hosts Okanagan Cup races

Over 200 skiers converged on the Revelstoke Nordic ski area for the Okanagan Cup races over the weekend. Here are results and photos from the successful event.

Last weekend, Revelstoke Nordic played host to over 200 skiers for the Teck Okanagan Cup 1 & 2. Racer satisfaction was at a premium with skiers treated to incredible conditions on course and home food and hospitality at the lodge thanks to the exceptional efforts of our local volunteers. The Larch Hills Nordic Ski Club showed up in full force and were able to climb their atop the Okanagan Cup standings, followed by Revelstoke’s contingent of 69 racers in second and the Telemark Nordic Ski Club in third.

Saturday’s event was an exciting Mass Start Classic event with skiers chasing each other around Titan, Dynamite, Mickey’s and/or Mickey’s and Evelyn’s. A warming trend and sun caked tracks made for excitement in the wax tent. Top Revelstoke results include:

Begbie Brewing Co., Mountain Goodness Natural Foods, Modern Bake Shop and Cafe, Flowt and Skookum. Revelstoke athletes will now gear up for next weekend’s three-day BC Championships in Kamloops.
