“We have a volunteer working board, meaning board members help out supporting our two paid staff members in addition to fulfilling governance roles on the board,” explains Lerritt Robinson, long-term volunteer and board secretary.

“It’s a group effort, and we have a place for everyone.”

Over the past year, Stoke FM has been rebuilding its station. Although the pandemic has complicated the process, they received a technology grant to help with the task.

After hiring two new executive directors, Stokoe FM is looking for new members to be a part of the 11-person board of directors.

In a statement, Stoke FM said the board had, “laid some groundwork and still have a lot of work to do to better fulfill our mission as a provider of diverse programming that serves the community.”

Although all skill sets are welcome to the board of directors, Stoke FM is particularly looking for those with financial or accounting backgrounds.

Memberships are required to run for a board position. They cost $20, and are available on the Stoke FM website.

To join the AGM at 7 P.M. on June 14, email [email protected] for a link to the Zoom meeting, or with any questions.
