Revelstoke Credit Union supports community projects to the tune of $100,000

Dozens of community projects got financial support from Revelstoke Credit Union at their annual meeting held on April 11.

The local credit union supports community-driven project through a small grant program and a capital grant program.

The capital grant program this year will support five projects with a total of $48,500 in funding. The projects are:

• the Revelstoke Heritage Railway Society’s mezzanine walkway and accessibility project; $15,000
• the Revelstoke Cycling Association’s bike skills and accessibility project; $5,000
• the BC Interior Forestry Museum Society’s capital projects; $10,000
• the Revelstoke Minor Hockey Association rink dividers project; $3,500
• the Selkirk Saddle Club’s tractor and grooming equipment project; $15,000

The credit union’s Community Giving program supported 30 different organizations with $51,500 in funding. They included projects such as coaching for soccer, Revelstoke’s Bear Aware program, the Timber Days celebration, a public mural program, the local food bank, a Francophone carnival and much more. See the complete list here.

Earlier this year, the Revelstoke Credit Union also gave $100,000 towards the Queen Victoria Hospital helipad project.
