Revelstoke athlete brings home gold

Matt Arnold took top spot in hammer throwing at the recent B.C. Track & Field Championships. It’s the first time in more than 30 years a Revelstoke athlete has brought home a gold medal.

Arnold, who competed in the junior boy’s category was a metre short of the provincial record with a throw of 51.27 metres.

Revelstoke Secondary School sent a total of 27 athletes to the championships, and a number of other students also placed in their respective disciplines.

Senior Girls 800 Metre:
Liz Elliot – 7th place
Alana Brittin – 8th place

100 Metre Hurdles:
Lane Bull – 6th place

400 Metre Hurdles:
Spencer Spannier – 7th place.
