RCMP search for Revelstoke vending machine bandit

Revelstoke RCMP want your help identifying a man they say stole cash from two vending machines in Revelstoke. On Jan. 8 they issued the following media release, alleging that the man and the vehicle presented in the images above is the person responsible for the thefts. They want your help identifying him. Here is the Jan. 8 media release:

On Thursday January 7, 2016 the Revelstoke RCMP received two complaints of thefts from vending machines. In both occurrences the male suspect made off with several hundred dollars in coins.

At the Alpine Inn the suspect entered a beverage vending machine by removing the lock cylinder and removing change totally approximately $200 as well as several bottles of Coca Cola. The suspect male also entered the Days Inn and removed the vending machine cylinder. The male removed an unknown amount of coins. In the case of the Days Inn theft, security video footage was obtained which provides reasonable images of the suspect male and his vehicle. Forensic Identification Services is also aiding in the investigation.

The male is described as in the mid to late 50s, with sandy brown hair, glasses, and wearing a dark ball cap, and black hooded shirt. The male was wearing a cross- strap bag, white shirt with image on it and jeans. The vehicle in which the suspect was traveling appears to be a early 2000s model Chevrolet Venture mini-van, most likely silver or beige in colour.
