RCMP and Revelstoke SAR search for Alberta man last seen heading to RMR on Feb. 13

Revelstoke RCMP and Revelstoke Search & Rescue have been mobilized on Saturday, Feb. 17 to search for an Alberta man who was last seen heading to ski at Revelstoke Mountain Resort on Feb. 13.

Michael David Foster, age 24, currently resides in Airdrie, Alberta.

His last confirmed known whereabouts was on Feb. 13, when he checked into the Revelstoke Backpacker Hostel, then bought a three-day pass to Revelstoke Mountain Resort for Feb. 13–15.

After he didn’t show up for work in Airdrie for three days, he was reported missing. Revelstoke RCMP say they received the notification late in the day on Friday, Feb. 16. His blue pickup truck was discovered in the parking lot at Revelstoke Mountain Resort covered in several days worth of snow.

In a statement, Revelstoke RCMP Staff-Sgt. Kurt Grabinsky said Revelstoke RCMP checked his bank account and cell phone records and say that Foster’s “last transactions were on Feb. 13.”

Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for Foster. He is 24 years old, a Caucasian male, 5’6″ tall, with blue eyes, blond hair and an average build. Police believe he was skiing alone and said he had minimal backcountry experience.

ON Saturday, Feb. 17, Revelstoke Mountain Resort Ski Patrol are conducting sweeps of the in-bound areas. Revelstoke Search and Rescue is deploying resources to search out of bound areas.
