Developers David Evans and Shelley Sharpe dream of building an eco-friendly tree hotel on the outskirts of Revelstoke to provide visitors with a unique experience.
But their bid to make it a reality has been working its way through process since early 2014. Their property is located in the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District, just adjacent to the City of Revelstoke boundary near Revelstoke Mountain Resort.
To provide the necessary water and sewage services for a hotel, they are seeking inclusion into the City of Revelstoke through a boundary expansion to annex the property.
Previously, city council approved the annexation request. But with the change of council in November, provincial authorities have requested council to reaffirm their support before it proceeds.
Council will deliberate at their next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
