Revelstoke RCMP have recovered a sled trailer and the snowmobiles inside that were stolen from Revelstoke on Mar. 19.

Police said that surveillance footage taken on Mar. 19 on Laforme Boulevard showed two people in a pickup truck stealing the 2017 Triton trailer.

In a statement, Revelstoke RCMP said that on Mar. 21 the trailer and sleds were located on a rural property near Creston.

“Revelstoke and Creston RCMP are continuing to investigate this matter and persons of interest have been identified,” said Cpl. Thomas Blakney.

Revelstoke RCMP are reminding snowmobilers to take anti-theft precautions when leaving their sleds unattended. They advise using trailer locks, parking in well-lit areas, boxing your sleds in with other vehicles, taking photos of your property that can be used during investigations and taking photos of your sled plates and VIN numbers. Also, report suspicious vehicles and behaviours to Revelstoke RCMP at 1-250-837-5255.
