Photos: Nordic skiers converge on Revelstoke for Teck BC Cup race

The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club hosting its biggest race to date this weekend with hundreds in town for the Teck BC Cup #2 race

The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club hosted its biggest ever race to date on Jan. 26, and showcased recent additions to the Mount Macpherson Nordic trails.

The club has recently completed additions to their trail system, including an expansion and new trail cuts right by the Mt. Macphersion lodge. These upgrades allow them to host shorter sprint races in a “stadium” setting. The renovation also expanded the parking lot area.

Teams from across B.C., Alberta and from as far away as Quebec converged for sprint races on Saturday, and will be back for distance races on Sunday.

The lodge area was packed with hundreds of racers, parents, and supporters cheering the kids on and ringing cow bells in support.

The racers will be back on Sunday competing in distance races as part of the Teck BC Cup #2 series. The parking lot will be full, but spectators can find overflow parking on Clough Road, about 200 metres towards Revelstoke from the lodge area on Highway 23.
