Photos: COVID-19 closures lead to empty downtown Revelstoke streets

Downtown Revelstoke was quieter than the quietest Sunday this morning, Friday March 20, a usually busy spring break day.

Most downtown businesses are closed, with the exception of a few essential services such as pharmacies, grocery stores, the media clinic and a handful of other services.

Photos: The streets and sidewalks of downtown Revelstoke are mostly empty this morning, Friday, March 20, as COVID-19 prevention steps have closed all but essential services in town, and many are home taking social isolation steps. It’s notably slower today than two days ago, when more people were still about and more shops were open. Additional provincial restrictions on shops and restaurants, as well as an evolving public mood over COVID-19 has curtailed commercial activity. Stay safe everyone.
