Photo Gallery: Revelstoke gathers for Remembrance Day 2022

Photo Gallery: A large crowd gathered on a cool grey morning for Revelstoke’s 2022 Remembrance Day Ceremony on Friday, Nov. 11.

A large crowd gathered around the Revelstoke Cenotaph on Nov. 11 across from Royal Canadian Legion Branch 46 for Remembrance Day 2022. Mayor Gary Sulz recited a message to the community during the event.

“On the eleventh day of the eleventh month at the eleventh hour, we gather to honour and remember those who sacrificed their lives in service to our country,” he said in his speech. “Remembrance Day is a time to reflect on the selfless contributions our veterans have made to preserve our Canadian ideals of democracy, freedom and peace.”

The community gathered this morning in honour of Remembrance Day to pay tribute to fallen members of the Canadian armed forces and thank all who have served.

Revelstoke veterans were the first to lay wreaths during the ceremony, followed by members of the Canadian Government, the Mayor of Revelstoke, MLA, Legion, and members of the public.
