Photo gallery: Revelstoke Garden & Art Tour 2015

The Local Food Initiative’s Revelstoke Garden & Art Tour 2015 was a glorious afternoon of gardens, art and good times with friends and acquaintances at 10 different private gardens.

This past weekend, a rainy Saturday morning gave way to some blue skies in the afternoon, and many took advantage of the window to witness a thriving garden scene in Revelstoke.

The offerings included a great variety of garden styles. Some are vegetable-production oriented, others are floral-oriented havens, but all displayed a deep passion for cultivation culture.

The 2015 event culminated in the grand opening of the new community garden at the Revelstoke Visual Arts Centre. The festivities included a band, barbecue and beverages.

I highly recommend this annual tour. The organizers keep it fresh with a variety of new and returning gardens each year. Each of the displaying gardeners are available with tips, advice, and garden wisdom. Listening to the conversations reminds aspiring gardeners you’ve got a lifetime of learning ahead. Personally, I went away inspired.

Next year, be sure to mark the date and gather some friends for a bike tour through private oases in Revelstoke.
