One deceased after jackknifed semi collides with oncoming vehicle on Highway 1
One person has died following an MVI between a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle near Donald, B.C.
Golden-based RCMP say one person has died after a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.
The incident happened near Donald, B.C. around 11:50 a.m. MST on Tuesday, November 10.
Cpl. Mike Halskov of BC RCMP Traffic Services said that a semi-trailer, “jackknifed into oncoming traffic and collided with a passenger vehicle. The driver of the semi truck was not injured, however one person in the passenger vehicle died at the scene.”
Police said they are in the early stages of investigating the incident and the cause has not been determined.
The highway remains closed in both directions while the investigation by Trans-Canada East Traffic Services continues. Police are asking anyone with information regarding this crash, including any dashboard camera video, is asked to call TCETS in Golden at 250-344-2221.
