Revelstoke’s newest restaurant is aiming to compete with the best eateries in town with their link-side offering at the Revelstoke Golf Club clubhouse.
The Point Restaurant Revelstoke is the newest location for the Alberta-based restaurant mini-chain, which operates two other golf course locations in Chestermere and Redwood Meadows, both near Calgary.

Manager Brandon Bourne is a skier, mountain biker and outdoor nut who jumped at the chance to operate the new Revelstoke location.
He emphasized The Point wants to be a stand-alone restaurant that attracts visitors and residents, not just the clubhouse kitchen.
“We want to be one of the best restaurants in Revelstoke,” Bourne said. “We offer higher quality foods, higher level of service but in a fun atmosphere — casual, comfortable and classy.”
A day before their opening on May 8, Bourne was coaching the half dozen staff members on bar service and the fine points of table linen placement.

In the back, The Point executive chef Cameron Slade was training up new staff on the menu they’ve developed at their other link-side restaurants. (View the menu here.)
Originally from Kamloops, Slade trained in Kelowna, Italy and the Cayman Islands before taking over at The Point Restaurant.
The menu features western classics, including steaks, roast meats, salads, desserts and grab-and-go options for golfers needing something quick before a round.
Bourne recommended a few dishes: the Coconut Prawn Tacos with avocado salsa and valentina hot sauce are a favourite. The Kale Caesar salad is another.

“Our prime rib beef dip is the best in the universe,” Bourne declared.
For groups, the Butcher’s Block is a sampling of their roasted meats, including Dr. Pepper Ribs, steak, roast chicken and sides.
The Point also offers a breakfast menu with quick and full options (Steak & Eggs, Point Benny, Strawberry & Waffles).
Bourne said attracting the general community to the restaurant will be key. He wants The Point to be known as a family-friendly restaurant. They have a kids menu and offer two-for-one deals for kids on their Family Fridays promotion.
Bourne said creating a the right atmosphere and experience is going to be key.
“We wanted to kind of class it up from what we saw,” he said. “The key is going to be our service.”
