New Revelstoke ‘Heritage Celebration’ weekend combines forestry, railway, bike & hike events

Revelstoke Tourism has announced a new fall ‘Heritage Celebration’ weekend that combines traditional fall heritage celebrations including Timber Days, Railway Days and the Celebrate the Summit event.

In a media release, See Revelstoke unveiled the schedule for the Sept 11–13 celebrations.

Revelstoke launches a new Heritage Celebration; combining the best of Timber Days, Railway Days, and Celebrate the Summit into one fantastic weekend! Tack on the 15th Annual Little Bear Soccer Tournament and 4th Annual Revelstoke BikeFest, and you’ve got a ton of reasons to visit Revelstoke this fall.

The weekend will be filled with events celebrating Revelstoke’s long and rich history with forests, railroads, families and culture. Community members and visitors will be thrilled by professional and local competitive logging sports, antique appraisals, special railway history events, Mount Revelstoke National Park summit celebrations, and a heritage themed sidewalk sale.

At the heart of it all is Revelstoke’s forest and railroad history. The Railway Museum will be celebrating the 130th Anniversary of the driving of the Last Spike. The Forestry Museum will be playing a big role in the celebration — as they host the B.C. Forest History Association Annual General Meeting on Friday, September 11.

We well be having horse logging demonstrations and an antique chainsaw competition up at the Forestry Museum.
