City announces new engineering director, filling vacant spot
The City of Revelstoke has announced they have hired a new chief engineer. In a Nov. 15 statement, the city introduced Steve Black as the new Director of Engineering & Public Works:

The City of Revelstoke is excited to welcome Steve Black in the position of Director of Engineering and Public Works. Mr. Black will compliment the city’s senior management team and be responsible for managing both the Engineering and Public Works departments.
Mr. Black has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah [and has] over 20 years of experience in municipal and public infrastructure, as well as land development. He brings with him experience in resort municipalities with vast responsibilities in management, planning, and budgeting making him an ideal fit for this role.
Mr. Black’s diverse knowledge includes both the public and private sectors; from project management, architectural/civil design, construction techniques, municipal infrastructure design, project coordination and detailed engineering.
