The city of Revelstoke is using a new app to help people keep track and get information about waste management and collection programs.

The Recycle CoachTM app is free to download and it is available from the iTunes Store and Google Play. There is a quick one time set-up process to personalize the information to where you live that includes setting up your personalized pick-up and event schedule. You can also visit the City of Revelstoke’s website and search your home address in our new on-line tool. Recycle Coach integrates with SeeClickFix, the city’s online reporting tool which has been well used by residents for a number of years.

The app allows residents to:

– Quickly find what you need to know about waste & recycling, including your personalized collection schedule.

– Get helpful reminders the evening before waste recycling pick-up.

– Determine what kind of recycler you are.

– Use the ‘what goes where’ to determine how to properly dispose of something or find out if a material can be reused, recycled or disposed.

“The Recycle Coach app is a great way for residents to find out where items can be disposed or recycled and to be notified of special waste events,” said Mike Thomas, director of engineering. “Using Recycle Coach and technology to communicate with residents about the services offered will help the community improve solid waste targets.”
