Two dead in MVI on Trans-Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Golden Saturday afternoon

Golden-Field RCMP say that four people were transported to hospital by air ambulance following the crash on the Trans-Canada Highway early this afternoon. However, two of them, a man and a woman, succumbed to their injuries.

The other two are in hospital with serious injuries.

Police believe the deceased pair are from Delta, B.C.

The highway has since reopened following the MVI, which took place around noon Revelstoke time.

The Trans-Canada Highway is closed between Revelstoke and Golden early Saturday afternoon following a motor vehicle incident near the Redgrave Rest Area.

The incident happened sometime around noon on Saturday, July 20.

Currently, DriveBC does not have an estimated reopening time but is expected to provide an update at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
