Revelstoke distilleries are proving they’re the cream of the crop when it comes to creating top-notch products. Both Mt. Begbie Brewing Co. and Jones Distilling recently brought home awards from international competitions.

Mt. Begbie’s Brave Liver Scotch Ale won best in Canada in the Strong Ale category at the World Beer Awards, while its Tall Timber won silver in the English Brown Ale category.

Jones Distilling won bronze in the SIPS International Consumer Awards. In an email to the Mountaineer Jones Distilling marketing and events coordinator Meghan Porath said the distilling company won the bronze with the second batch from their first town months of being in production.

“Not only are we a world class destination for our big mountain adventure, but it looks like we’re starting to put ourselves on the map for international taste as well,” Porath said.
