MLA Norm Macdonald will wrap up his 12 years as Columbia River–Revelstoke MLA with a series of community appreciation events in the riding.

The Revelstoke event will be on Thursday, Mar. 30 from 4–7 p.m. at the Powder Springs Inn.

“Doing this work on behalf of the people of Revelstoke has been a real honour, but it is work that cannot be done without the support of the community and assistance of its citizens,” said Macdonald in a statement.

“I want to acknowledge all that the people of this region have done to make these last 12 years successful. Everyone is welcome to stop by for a coffee. I imagine there will be lots of reminiscing and nostalgia as we look back over the years. But it will also be a time of celebration as we remember all we’ve accomplished together,” Macdonald added.

Macdonald announced his retirement from provincial politics last year. Invermere mayor Gerry Taft is the local NDP candidate in the May B.C. election.
