Arts Revelstoke Artistic and Executive Director Miriam Manley will soon be moving on from her position with the organization to serve as the new Executive Director for the British Columbia Touring Council.
A release sent out by Arts Revelstoke praised Manley for her 10 years dedicated to significant cultural development in the community and credited her for the rebranding of the organization and its programming. The organization also credits her with the development of diverse and vibrant family and contemporary dance programming and the commissioning of new work.

As one of her first assignments with the organization, Manley implemented professional standards in the operation of the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre. As a result of the changes she made, Arts Revelstoke received federal funding to support activities in the centre.
“Miriam’s incredible vision and talent has taken Revelstoke from being a small artsy community to its present state as one of the Interior’s major artistic hubs, providing unique cultural offerings and opportunities,” Arts Revelstoke board secretary Melissa Klages said.
“The path she has forged has benefited our community immensely. Miriam leaves an incredible legacy in the music we hear downtown all summer, the pieces of art that grace our vibrant alleys and the high level performances we see at our local Performing Arts Centre.”
Manley reacted to the limitations of the pandemic with projects like Guerrilla Gigs, REVY Live Online and the Revelstoke Reflections art prize. She is a co-founder and curator of LUNA and LUNA SOUND and has produced eight Art Allery installations in the downtown core, including commissioning Ric Gendron’s work ‘Coming Home,’ the first local public art piece in Revelstoke by a Sinixt artist.
Arts Revelstoke will be celebrating Manley’s contributions to the arts in the community at their AGM on June 8. The search is now underway for a new artistic and executive director.
