Logging accident claims Revelstoke man

A Revelstoke man succumbed to his injuries following a logging accident in the vicinity of the Laforme Creek Bridge on July 27.

A logging accident claimed the life of a Revelstoke man on Monday, July 27.

Revelstoke RCMP say the incident happened late in the morning on a logging site in the vicinity of the Laforme Creek Bridge on Highway 23 North.

A 66-year-old Revelstoke resident was struck and knocked unconscious by a log during operations, police said. BC Ambulance Service land and helicopter crews were dispatched to the scene, but the man succumbed to his injuries.

Police said WorkSafeBC and the BC Coroners Service attended the scene and are conducting an investigation into the incident. Police referred further queries to them.
