Kaitlan Murphy’s Jumping Creek Pottery Kickstarter campaign a success!
Revelstoke potter Kaitlan Murphy’s Kickstarter campaign to expand her Jumping Creek Pottery studio is a success after achieving its $25,000 threshold last week. The campaign ends on Wednesday, Mar. 11.
The dynamic Revelstoke artist’s campaign was featured in the Revelstoke Mountaineer in February in the story, Potter Kaitlan Murphy builds a tiny home for her dreams.
Murphy attributed part of her success to the Mountaineer feature. Kickstarter analyzes web traffic to their campaign and reports on which traffic generates sales.
Murphy said $2,008 in sales – or 8.05% of her total to date – came directly from supporters who clicked through to Kickstarter from the Revelstoke Mountaineer story. Murphy added the story likely generated more leads and sales that were not direct click-throughs, and the story really helped get the word out there.
“It’s fun to see the direct results from such a lovely article,” Murphy said. “Nice to see poetry in motion!”
Revelstoke Mountaineer client services director Meg Irving said the results show stories lead to action.
“We did this story because we love Kaitlan’s inspired work – this wasn’t advertising” Irving said. “But we also do story-based advertising, which is a great way to share your story with our audience. Our talented staff can create great photography, video and text stories that get results.”
The Mountaineer labels story-based advertising.
