Interior Health has issued a notification of potential COVID-19 exposures at Zala’s Restaurant, which is located on Victoria Road near the Trans-Canada Highway in Revelstoke.
Although several local restaurants have voluntarily published social media notices of potential COVID-19 exposures at their locations on social media, this is the first time during the pandemic that Interior Health (IH) has issued a notice specific to a restaurant in Revelstoke. Zala’s did post a COVID-19 potential exposure notice on their Facebook page on Dec. 16, noting the restaurant would be “closed for the time being.” Interior Health lists the potential exposure dates as Dec. 12–15.
Here is the Dec. 24 notice from Interior Health:

This restaurant has voluntarily closed and is working with Interior Health to ensure a safe reopening in the future.
Interior Health is seeing ongoing cases in the community and in other communities across Interior Health. Environmental public health continues to have staff in Revelstoke working with local businesses to ensure they have the information they need to have appropriate safety protocols in place to reduce the risk to patrons.
New cases in all communities are why it is so important for everyone to follow public health orders.
Have small holiday gatherings with your household contacts and find ways to virtually link in with other families and friends. Avoid gatherings and non-essential travel to other communities. Physical distance, wear a mask and wash your hands often.
