Highway 1 remains closed between Revelstoke and Golden Wednesday morning

A rock slide closed the Trans-Canada Highway between Revelstoke and Golden on the evening of Tuesday, Oct. 24. The highway remains closed as of 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25.

DriveBC is now reporting that a geotechnical engineer is on site assessing the situation, and estimates the highway will reopen at 2 p.m. on Oct. 25.

The highway has been closed since at least 9:15 p.m. Tuesday night when the Revelstoke Mountianeer first tweeted about the situation.
